En primer punt hem de saber que CNC s\u00f3n les sigles de Control Num\u00e8ric per Computaritzat (Computer Numerical Control, en angl\u00e8s). CNC es refereix a un sistema d'automatitzaci\u00f3 utilitzat a la ind\u00fastria de la fabricaci\u00f3. El CNC s'utilitza per controlar i dirigir les m\u00e0quines eina, com ara torns, fresadores i m\u00e0quines de tall per l\u00e0ser, mitjan\u00e7ant instruccions codificades en un programa d'ordinador.<\/p>

El funcionament es basa en un codi num\u00e8ric, que cont\u00e9 una s\u00e8rie d'instruccions precises que guien la m\u00e0quina a cada pas del proc\u00e9s de fabricaci\u00f3. No obstant aix\u00f2, el 1950, quan el CNC va guanyar popularitat a la ind\u00fastria. La introducci\u00f3 dels ordinadors digitals i la millora dels sistemes electr\u00f2nics van permetre un major control i precisi\u00f3 en la mecanitzaci\u00f3. A les d\u00e8cades seg\u00fcents, es van realitzar millores constants en la velocitat, la precisi\u00f3 i les capacitats de les m\u00e0quines CNC.
